In order to sign up for this camp, you must be a first year student and enrolled or on the waitlist for fall 2026 at Great River School and going into first and second grade. (Lower Elementary). Tadpole Academy is a program to support student’s transition to Great River! Led by two of our lower elementary guides, it is designed to help children feel confident, curious, and comfortable as they prepare for a new Montessori learning environment. Through gentle routines, hands-on activities, and meaningful social experiences, children are given the time and space to adjust at their own pace. Children will also begin to create social connections with future classmates! Guided by Montessori principles, the program introduces classroom expectations, materials, and daily rhythms in a relaxed and joyful setting. Children practice independence, collaboration, and self-regulation in a Montessori classroom with a Guide while engaging in age-appropriate work and fun activities that will nurture their natural love of learning.
