Signature Soccer Moves

Incoming 4th-7th graders will devote afternoons at McMurray Fields in Como Park playing a variety of ball control games, scrimmaging and creating their "Signature Move". Open to anyone interested in learning or improving ball control and tesring their skills with friends. Water bottle required. Cleats and shin guards strongly encouraged.

Pride Camp

We will learn about LGBTQ activists and artists and make art to honor them. We will learn about the history of Pride parades and make costumes, signs, and art for the following weekend's Pride parade or everyday Pride! We may even have our own Parade at the end of the week!

Express Yourself!

If you are interested how art plays a roll into what you wear and how people present themselves to the world, then this camp is perfect for you! This camp will focus on pattern making and sewing clothes, knitting clothes, jewelry making, creating temporary tattoos, nail art, and costume making. Shelters, Forts, and Hideouts

Feel a sense of accomplishment through imagining, designing and building primitive forts and shelters out of various materials. Develop and adapt the structures each day as we use a different material to create. Done building? Lets play a game, or embellish the fort with an artistic touch, or challenge ourselves with the strength of the structure.

A Play in Four Days

"12 Angry Villains"-"Peter Pan is on trial for the death of an innocent pirate named Captain Hook. A jury of twelve of the most famous villains will decide Pan's fate, if only they could stop arguing long enough to take a vote." During this full day camp, we will be producing a one act play, with a performance on the last day of camp. Students will learn basic acting techniques, play theatre games and be immersed in the experience of putting on a play.

Lego Robotics Camp

LEGO robotics camps give campers the opportunity to explore STEM skills in a fun and hands-on camp setting. These all-day camps are a perfect way for kids to start learning more about coding, programming, and robotics. During this camp, campers will work in teams and learn the basics of building and programming a LEGO Spike Prime Robot to complete a variety of fun & exciting robot challenges! Each team will have mentors from the GRS Mythical robotics teams to guide them through the exciting world of coding and building robots.

Fantastical Week of RPG's

Dive into the vast world of Role Playing Games like Dungeons and Dragons and Pathfinder! Whether you are new to RPGs and wanting to find your footing, or a seasoned player or dungeon master, come have fun building worlds and quests, and creating a hero to forge their way to victory or a villain to rebel-rouse the land. We will explore the diverse ancestries, classes, backgrounds, and archetypes that endow our characters, tactical maps, and character sheets. This camp will look at rule books and give you a chance to blaze the trail for your own narrative.

Sailing for All

Join us on Bde Maka Ska for a week of sailing! You will learn to harness the wind to power your boat and to navigate across the water by tacking, jibing, controlling the sails while taking the helm. Experience the thrill of a boat heeling and take a turn on a small racing dinghy with a Great River High School Race Team sailor! Each day, you will have the opportunity to skipper, crew and swim. We will be using the Minneapolis Sailing Center’s fleet of Ensigns, which allow us to have crews of 6 campers and 1 adult aboard. Sailing is weather and wind dependent. Friday will be offered as a make-up day if we have to cancel for weather. No sailing experience necessary. For safety reasons, participants must be comfortable on the water and in a boat. Please note: This camp is located in UPTOWN and pick up and drop off is at Minneapolis Sailing Center on Bde Maka Ska. While we are not offering a separate Adolescent camp in the afternoon this year, we are committed to having a boat for adolescents who are interested in sailing or joining the HS sailing team.
