Come to McMurray Fields at Como Park every morning and try games and challanges using soccer balls. Learn the rules of soccer and play with your friends! Designed for incoming 1st-3rd graders to learn or continue to practice individual skills and begin learning team play. Water bottle and shoes you can run in are required. The Quest for Tales from Around the World

Humans love to tell stories! Before we had social media, tv, and the internet, we passed things down by word of mouth, in other words, through telling each other stories. Horton Park Tree Camp

We'll go on a daily hike to our nearby arboretum at Horton Park to learn about and explore over 60 different types of trees in this one small park. Campers will play games, explore, investigate and create crafts all based on the trees in the park. We may even take turns climbing a few of them!

Shelters, Forts, and Hideouts

In this camp, we will focus on our construction skills by building different types of shelters, forts and hideouts. We will also learn about our basic human survival needs. We will be making forts out of PVC, wood, tarps, sheets, tumbling mats, cardboard and natural found materials including a trip to Como Woodlands. We will do both solo and group work to practice our team building skills. So bring your imaginations and creativity for this week of adventures!

Amazing Animal Art Camp

GRS Garden Explorations

Campers will get to know the Great River School garden. We will look for bugs, dig in the dirt, pull some weeds and care for the chickens. Campers will do some lite work in the garden and get to sample some tasty fresh veggies as well.

Shadow Puppet Play

Lights, Paper, Action! Together we will learn how to build and move a paper puppet and then add a dash of light to cast a shadow that will tell a story. Each camper will create their own paper puppet and then work as a team to perform a puppet play at the end of the week. It is magical fun!
