Urban Biking Adventures

Join us on 4 days of urban biking fun! We will spend the majority of the morning and afternoon exploring the Twin Cities by bike, with a different destination each day (to be announced at a later date!) When we reach our destination we will break for lunch, relax a bit, and then head back to GRS. The routes we will take will primarily involve bike paths and bike lanes, and we will be practicing safe, respectful, collaborative bike etiquette the entire time. Each day your student will ride between 15 and 25 miles, depending on the destination. Folks who sign up should be capable of spending several hours riding. This type of riding is great exercise, allows students to see the cities from a different perspective, and is excellent preparation for the Adolescent Bike Trip that GRS students go on every spring in 7th and 8th grade!

One additional component we are doing again this year is an optional, $60 add-on bonus ride on Friday to Stillwater! If you are willing to pick your student up in Stillwater instead of at Great River, please let us know and we will discuss logistics closer to when camp starts. We're excited to offer this bonus day as it's been a highly requested addition for the last few years!

Disc Golf Around the Cities

Are you a disc golfer and want to play with other young people?  Or maybe you've always wondered about how to play but never had anybody to teach you?  If so, sign up for this camp and you'll take the city bus to different courses every day.  We'll go to Wabun, Highland Park and Acorn Park.  The 4th day location will be up to the campers.  We'll also explore each park and see what they have to offer.  Additional activities may include basketball, tennis, volleyball, ultimate, pickleball, hiking to Minnehaha Falls and more!

Twin Cities Transit Camp

Come discover some of the best the Twin Cities has to offer!  Each day, we’ll travel about 30 minutes from GRS by public transit.  One day we'll head to a local beach for swimming, relaxing, and maybe even some boating.  We'll head to an Art Museum and do some art & picnicking by the river.  Another day we'll go to a park and play disc golf and yard games.  The final day is up to you: Comic book stores and thrifting?  Waterfalls and hiking?  More museum time?  We'll meet at GRS each day between 9-9:30 am, plan our adventure, and then be off-campus from 10- 2/ 2:30 each day.  You're welcome to stay until 4 pm for Open Art, Board Games, Sports, and more.  Can't wait to explore with you!
