Ultimate for All

Great River School staff and Ultimate Coaches, Leona DeRango and Chad Hofland will be teaming up for a week of ultimate camp. This Ultimate Camp is available for all players, but we especially want to invite Female Matching Players to attend. Students in this camp will learn the basic rules of the sport, spirit of the game and the fundamentals including: throws, basic offense and defensive structure, gaining the experience of participating in a team sport, and having FUN while getting good exercise.

Claytopia

We will be using both air dry clay and polymer (oven bake) clay to create a variety of items. There will be some structured creation time and time for campers to explore their imagination. Campers of all ages love to build with clay and you'll be amazed at what they create.

Trashion Show

We will be using recycled and repurposed materials to construct wearable art and accessories. We will use techniques like sewing, weaving, beading, and embroidery. At the end of the week we will hold a fashion show to display the wearable art we have created! Feel free to bring in your own recycled materials to use or share with the group.

Music Foundations

This camp is meant to give 4th-7th graders a better understanding and appreciation of American music over the last century. How did classic folk songs mold into the blues? What influenced the creation of Rock and Roll?  How about Country or Hip hop? 
We will learn some basic chords on the guitar,sing some classic folk and blues tunes together. and take a glimpse at different time signatures and learn how the rhythm of a song can affect the overall feeling. 
We all love music, so let's learn what makes a song great and find out what influenced the music we now listen to and love.

A Play in 2 Weeks

A Taste of Farming and Cooking

Adventures in Theater

This camp favorite brings all the aspects of theater to life!  You'll get to explore the world of backstage: lighting, costume, sound, and scenic design.  You'll get to design your own sound and lighting effects as well as utilize GRS costumes & props.  We'll be playing some fun drama games and doing some acting each day.  No public performance and not required for the 2 week play camp- just us doing what we love and learning!
